Welcome to Balla Cloiche Vineyards
Good things are happening here at BCV… Franny and Rachel have been busy putting together some great live music and food truck combos for our 2021 season! Below is a list of our line up so far. More events and information will be added as we get closer, so please stay tuned. Dave, Greg and crew have been working on our new deck since August. The deck itself is finished! The final floor plan will include a covered outdoor bar and large service area to keep customers and staff safe, cool and dry. Our electric service is officially underground and Wow, what a difference! Thank you, Adams Electric Cooperative, Kenny and Atlantic StormWater, LLC! Due to ongoing construction, a few of our outdoor spaces are temporarily closed. Please excuse the mess - we hope to be finished by the end of May. Oh, and our new vintages are fabulous. But don't take our word for it, come taste for yourself! Dry wines are what we do best, but cocktails are available for customers who prefer something sweet.
The name “Balla Cloiche” is Gaelic for “stone wall.” Our farm has lots of those, many old and others newly constructed by Dave. The Scottish pronunciation is bal'-uh klo'-uh, with a tricky, but easily omitted guttural “gh” at the end of klo. The Irish version is softer and perhaps more user friendly, bal-uh kloysh’. Feel free to take your pick… or simply call us “BCV.”

It is our goal to produce wines that express the beauty and spirit of the place we have come to know and love as Balla Cloiche Vineyards. We look forward to sharing them with you here, in their most natural setting. The hollow itself holds its own procession of seasonal beauty and an almost tangible sense of the good souls that have lived and worked here before us. Or stop by and choose a bottle or two to take along and enjoy our estate grown wines in the comfort of your own quiet place. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Please note: BCV is a place for adults to relax and sip wine with other adults. We love children and dogs, too, but please do not bring them along when you visit. Riesling loves people, but unfortunately, is not a fan of other dogs on her property. An unannounced visit would be stressful for everyone! Thank you for your help.
