Welcome to Balla Cloiche Vineyards
The days are getting longer and BCV’s Spring Equinox and Opening Day Celebration is just around the corner! We have been super busy this winter planning new events and will be rolling over some of your favorites from last season. Some of our new additions include Friday night game nights, a horseshoe pit, an outdoor fire ring for the chilly season, charcuterie trays, a slushy machine, exciting new bands and most importantly - our new wines! Our 2020 menu will include new vintages of all of last year’s wines plus 2 additions: “Profanity”, our reserve Pinot Gris and “Calamity” our new red blend. We look forward to sharing them with you this season here in our beautiful vineyard.
Grab a friend and join us on March 21st for a day of fun, food, music and fabulous wine!
Members of the Kiltie Band of York will be here once again to help us kick off the new season in
style. Slainte’! Stroll around the grounds, taste our new wines, or enjoy a slushy if that’s your thing.
Bangers and Mash and shortbread will be on the menu from our friends at Haus Sanders and all
indoor and outdoor seating areas will be open. We will update times for food and music closer to the
day of the event.
The name “Balla Cloiche” is Gaelic for “stone wall.” Our farm has lots of those, many old and others newly constructed by Dave. The Scottish pronunciation is bal'-uh klo'-uh, with a tricky, but easily omitted guttural “gh” at the end of klo. The Irish version is softer and perhaps more user friendly, bal-uh kloysh’. Feel free to take your pick… or simply call us “BCV.”

It is our goal to produce wines that express the beauty and spirit of the place we have come to know and love as Balla Cloiche Vineyards. We look forward to sharing them with you, here in their most natural setting. The hollow itself holds its own procession of seasonal beauty and an almost tangible sense of the good souls that have lived and worked here before us. We invite you to come visit and experience the magic of Balla Cloiche!
BCV is a place where adults can relax with friends, enjoy nature and sip wine. It is also a working farm. For their safety and everyone's peace of mind, we kindly ask you to find a sitter for your children when you visit, with the exception of designated family friendly events.
No outside alcohol is permitted on the grounds.
Pets are not allowed, but service animals are welcome.
